The aim of sports massage is to reduce extreme physical exhaustion (e.g. after training or a competition). According to the time, three types of massage can be provided: pre-effort massage, post-effort massage (regenerating the organism), and complementary massage (assisting with training). A sports massage differs from a Classical massage as a greater amount of pressure is applied to the body. This helps to warm up the muscles.
Lymphatic drainage is one of the physical curative methods used helping to amend the circulation of lymph, thus counteracting the diseases caused by lymphatic stasis. This kind of massage also suppresses stasis and inflammatory swelling, as well as lymphedema. Moreover, it helps to improve the flow of lymph after old infective and neoplastic diseases, thus hastening full recovery.
